Heya all, it’s The Bro again guest-blogging here with more updates on what is going on between nicole and I.
Ever since The Sis was featured in my blog, and more recently after we started cross-posting in each other’s blog, nicole and I have been getting many questions from members of the public readers of our blogs about who she is (in my case), and who I am (in her case).
Well, we thought it would be good for us to clarify matters once and for all.
First things first. Boy and girl never lived happily ever after. Not in the fairy tale kinda sense anyway. It was true that boy liked girl, and girl liked boy… as friends. There’s no such thing as boyfriend/girlfriend relationship between us, so to all those gossipers out there: too bad.
Just like what nicole did in my blog, maybe I should elaborate more on how both of us became close, so that it won’t be as mysterious as it is now.
You might want to note that the contents of this entry is very similar to what she posted in my blog, so if you have something better to do and you’ve read her entry, don’t bother reading this entry, because most of what I’m talking about here is exactly the same as hers.
Our first encounter was in one of the Lecture Theaters in NTU back in early September during one of SIGGRAPH’s Electronic Theater screenings for SADM students. It was a simple “Oh hi, my name is yj” followed by a “Sorry?” and “You can call me nicole”, ending with a “Hi, I’m hendri” kinda thing.
It was 258 hours later during the preparation of the computer lab for SIGGRAPH’s Photoshop course that we met next. MSN contacts were exchanged, our blogs were linked, and we started commenting on each other’s blogs. It was the start of the close friendship that we’ve made.
Over the course of many mugging sessions and Cinema 4D training sessions, we discovered that we have a lot of things in common. From our interests to our types of music to past experiences to even our blood groups.
We also realised that we can communicate pretty well. We can talk about practically anything and everything. In fact, sometimes we can communicate too well that we don’t even need to say anything for the other to know what we are thinking. Call it sixth sense, call it telepathy, whatever. And yes, in case you’re wondering, we’re still very much amazed by the fact.
We even thought that we may be related somehow in our past lives. Of course, I was an owl and she was a moth in the past life, but she said people have many more past lives, so it must be in the other past life that we were related. Oh wait, you’re not supposed to know that I was an owl and she was a moth before.
But that’s not the main issue right now.
Either that we were related in our past lives, or we are long-lost siblings. Since our birthdays are separated by only 5 months, we also speculated that we may actually be separated twins. Hey, there’s a possibility that our birth certificates contain mistakes, however remote it is, isn’t there?
Over time, we started treating each other as if we’re real-life siblings, and that’s how the terms “The Sis” and “The Bro” came about. OK, I was the one who started with “The Sis”, because I do have my own real-life sister, and I don’t want the readers of my blog to confuse between the two. Then it developed to “The Bro” very recently.
I don’t seem to have the ability to keep things short and sweet, so in case you’ve read this far and instead of being enlightened, you are getting confused, let me sum up everything in one sentence:
We are close buddies.
Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen, right now I’ll stop here before I start posting super-long entries as if this blog is my own. Thank you for your kind attention.
The Bro,
bcc
