alright… things has been going thru a roller coaster ride… =X
on Tuesday, the ACER technicians came down to make a house call… cos I complained to their call center that my LCD monitor is giving horrible display…
It all started on a Friday of recess week… I was online and surfing net… when i noticed my display on the lcd screen starts going horrendusly wrong… so my instinct was to restart the pc, in hope that it will correct itself. How wrong i was. During the reboot, I cant help but notice that my screen has turned a ghostly shade of green… and that the display is fuzzy and grainy at the same time. amazingly, I can still see everything on the monitor… just that its a real pain for the eyes…
Finally, I dug up my warranty card and called help desk… the lady was very nice and told me to reinstall my graphics card driver… I did and the display worsen… haha… i can see streaks of green and patches around…
so I told her wat i knew and how it occurred… and it was agreed that a on site visit to assess the situation would be needed… fast forward to tuesday and the technician came…
my mum called and said there was nothing wrong… I was like… WTH… and decided to talk to the technician… I told him wat i knew and he suspected that the monitor should be the culprit. then he said he going to take the LCD monitor back to service centre to do a through checking and return by friday… I said go ahead… since I have nothing to loose… apart from not being able to use my pc… also my sis is having her J1 promo exams…
Then today, when I came back.. lo and behold… the monitor is back… yay~!!! Happy… then my sis complain… no sound… i was like huh!~? not again… so i decided to do a little checking on my own, before calling help desk… I started checking for loose cables… and crawled under the table… then i notice that something is missing from the monitor… my audio cable… toot ~!
He forgot to set it back for me… duh~! no wunder no sound… so i plug it in and ta dah… works~! and also make the sound icon appear in my task bar again….
The report says… FPC no. 10 cable loose… LoL…
By the way FPC stands for Flexible Printed Circuits… better known as Flexible electronics… haha… its fixed and the display is brilliant once again~!
Oh well…
