17 Feb 2007 reunion dinner

I had a very filling reunion dinner. Its different from the previous years, cos my grandma had an operation and not really quite well to cook the reunion dinner, so my aunt decided to order “poon choi” (cantonese) – its a pot filled with abalone, fresh and dried scallops, lotus root, mushroom, dried oysters, chicken wings, as well as some pork. and its cooked and stewed to perfection. at the expense of $$$ of course. haha, and i had salmon yu sheng. Not too bad though, for the fish is really fresh.

Of course, the yu sheng came with loads and loads of plum sauce, oil, crackers, spices, radish and some more colourful vegetables. The yu sheng is complementary to the “poon choi”. 2 yu sheng == 2 “poon choi”.

I help my aunt to carry the “poon choi” home

Besides these 2 dishes, there were roast pig (crispy skin and shiok la), roast duck (the usual, tender and flavourful of marinate), mushrooms stewed with chicken feet (very yummy, juicy and flavourful mushrooms that oozes juices when u bite into them), sweet sour pork (cooked with pineapple and lychees, perfection~! haha, i happily polished off all the fruits in that dish. haha), curry chicken (i din manage to eat that, too much too eat! but mum thinks its very good, so does my dad, means its good lor), beancurd soup (cooked with chicken bones and water chestnut~ my fav, with love from grandma) hee… and of course, add that to a bowl of rice and i am oh so full and bloated.

After the dinner, there were fruits – rock melon , so sweet, and i ate quite a lot. hahaha… and sampling of crackers that were brought in from msia, by my uncle. not bad la the taste, slightly hard. hahaha, and then we took a family photo, which has added a few new members. :)

Tml lunch will be more fantastic than ever. OMG. I am so stuffed.

Oh, may I wish all of u a Happy Lunar New Year. :D
