Just finished software engineering lecture. Today’s lecture different from the rest… An IT professional from IBM came down to give us a talk on Rational Software… its an eye opener to know that there are many tools that can help make software engineering a lesser pain.
My friends and I were talking about intersem… as well as Industrial Attachment (IA). I was contemplating on the issue of IA and Industry Orientation (IO). This is because, I have some core subjects that I will not finish on time… to graduate as the rest of my peers. and graduating 1 semester later means missing out on convocation, though the convocation will be held somewhat later. They advice me to take up the full IA, and delay my graduation, cos at least my chances to secure a job is higher, but whether the company can afford to wait because of my delayed graduation is another problem altogether.
Initially, I am kinda resigned to the fact of doing IO so that I can finish my subjects on time… but after thinking of what they had said, maybe its not such a bad idea to delay graduation afterall… I admit that I dun feel good about the idea of defying the norm… but i guess this my ability to go this far…
After coming this far in my degree course, I guess its too late to backtrack and take another route… perhaps I should have persued something else that i wanted… but even then, given my current circumstances, I should make use the best of it.
Perhaps I don’t take intersem after all… or should I? But so far, have yet to see any subjects I really wanted to take…
