21 May 2008 how much “power” do bloggers have?
 |  Category: my life  | 8 Comments

I was shocked to read that the blogger wrote racist remarks (and kenna arrested). Pleading ignorance ain’t going to get the blogger off the hook. Especially for writing such things. This has happened before, and history just repeated itself.

Which brings me to my point of focus in this blog post… Do we as bloggers, blog what we please, write what we like, and say what we can all because the blog is our personal space on the Internet? What if it potentially runs afoul of the law even without ill intentions?

I question the power that bloggers have. To what extent is the “power” constructive? If its beyond that… does it spiral out of control? Does it become destructive? Is this “power” controllable?

21 May 2008 [late entry] Blog2u Seminar…
 |  Category: my life  | 3 Comments

Indeed, its a great joy and pleasure to attend another seminar by Blog2u. I’ve had a great time at Media Maker’s Evening, and this seminar was as fun as before. And I’ve walked away with a better understanding of social media through different perspectives…

The speakers were great, and provoked several of my thoughts on social media… (I shall leave that to another blog post).

Not to mention, met 2 other featured bloggers, Leonard and Elaine, for the very first time! :) woohoo… Daniel was also a featured blogger, but I’ve met him before… also, the long time no see tstar! haha… and oh yes, ridz was also there too… :)

The seminar kicked off as an informal session… and I was soon engrossed with what the speakers are presenting… each of the speakers were really great!

First off was Elaina from Kaiiten Communications, followed by Nic, CNet Bloger, and Jairus from Comiqs… I like the topics that they presented, and yes, I will be blogging about some issues that struck me along the line of social media. :)

Last but not least, Paddy also did a quick overview about the history of the company… :) “Underpromise, Over deliever”. Kudos~!

I look forward to attend the next event by Blog2u… :)

For the pictures, head over to Elaine’s blog!
