It’s been a wonderful 22 weeks being attached to my internship company.
I remembered when the selection process was on, I decided to go for DSTA, upon the advice from a good friend. This advice turned out to be a great one, as I had a interesting, eye opening and deeper insight of working in a stat board… *thanks!* The project that was selected proved to be more than meets the eye… I’ve learnt much about things I will never learn in school…
Was very nervous on my first day at work, and it didn’t help that I did not smile as much as I normally would, but my fears were unfounded though. Met my mentor as well as the other members of the team in my department. Pretty friendly bunch of people
Of course, all work and no play makes jill a dull girl. Barely 2 weeks plus into internship, I went out on a department outing and we had loads of fun at Sentosa… playing games and interacting with other people as well. But the best part of it all was to have said “hi” to you. Else I doubt we would have known each other… That was the best as well as the worse day of my life.
Came Chinese New Year and there was a department lunch on new year’s eve. First time tried the porridge buffet at Suntec City. It’s quite good in my opinion… I wouldn’t mind going back there again! After that there was another lunch after Chinese New Year… LoL~ so many lunches…
Work’s been fun and challenging, constantly forcing me to think of a solution and implementing it. Never a dull moment, for there were irritating bugs to be defeated in my program. Mostly logic bugs though.
I guess the best part is able to get along with colleagues, go for daily lunches where possible, and just go with the flow
To me, this IA has been the most memorable moments that I have in my journey to getting a degree.
