07 Apr 2009 Brief updates
 |  Category: my life  | Tags: , ,  | Comments off

Just one more post before I get back to work… A brief take on the happenings around me, and random updates…

  • Starbucks closes down at E-life, Suntec. As mentioned by DK, it’s quite sad that they have closed down – but then again, it’s a cost saving measure by Starbucks I think. I was never a big fan of chilling out at Starbucks, but now I have been won over that it’s really a good place to chill/relax/work. Furthermore, with friends around, its a good place to go too :)
  • Earthquake – L’Aquilla, Italy. My heart goes out to them, seeing countless photographs on flickr, updates via twitterfall, and the magnitude of the earthquake is just catastrophic. May the victims rest in peace. As of 1.14 pm (7th April 2009) another earthquake is reported. 7.0 Magnitude quake of Kuril Islands.
  • Food poisoning case in Singapore – It’s scary that food poisoning has actually caused deaths, and I really hope there ain’t any more causalities. Weather and Food Hygiene plays a role in the food. A word of caution, if you find any food taste off, don’t eat it… and if you suspect yourself to be having the runs and stuff, please seek medical help before its too late.

So here’s my very first post written in point form. LOL. While stress can be good, too much stress can kill too… and I am swinging on the extreme end at the moment. Oh well… Ok, I shall stop here and get back to work.

07 Apr 2009 lying on the bed
 |  Category: my life  | Tags:  | Comments off

Something happened last night, and it amazingly left me understanding why I was feeling so tensed and worried. In fact, I couldn’t sleep.

So I lie down on my bed, and practiced what I learnt from yoga back then, by completely relaxing all the joints of the body, and telling myself all is ok, just relax. And I found myself drifting to sleep pretty quickly. And yes, a small amount of Bible reading helped too :)

Guess it works, because I woke up feeling refreshed, and yes, I know I have fires to fight, but I just have to keep going. :)

I know my exams are coming, and I am holing up either at home or school. I am still pondering over studying at Starbucks. :P
