A hectic week, and a crazy life

my life Comments Off

This is a crazy week. And by far, yet another satisfying week. Well, I can’t complain, or rather no reason to complain either. :)

Work’s tough, but it’s challenging, and I like my job. So far so good, and I am thankful for the opportunities given. LOL.

Still trying to achieve better time management, and I shall work things out as soon as I can. Schedule’s getting packed for work, personal life etc. All these are impacting my blog postings!

But fret not, I shall get it up to speed as fast as I can. :P

Was still feeling starstruck, because I seen Lady Gaga performed at the Exclusive Showcase, and oh boy, she’s good! I can’t help but marvel at her costume changes though she performed like 4 songs?! (Post coming soon)

Loads of pictures to upload, but that shall wait at the moment, because of work. :)

So stick around, for more exciting content ahead.

Sony Digital Workshop

my life 4 Comments

Though I’ve used my digital camera to snap picts for about a year or so but never had any formal training or the knowledge to take some proper shots. Thus I jumped at the opportunity to attend the Sony Digital Workshop, thanks to Blog2u and Sony.

Here’s this little darling, the Fuchsia Pink Sony Cyber-shot T90 that was provided for usage during the course.

Video Games Live!

my life 1 Comment

I remember the likes of Pong, Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Warcraft, Final Fantasy amongst many other game titles… and it’s the sound effects and music that attracted me deeply. Not to mention Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger, Command & Conquer (Red Alert), Halo, The Legend of Zelda…

Prior to Video Games Live concert series, I attended PLAY! Symphony and Distant Worlds concerts. These have one thing in common, game music!

Ok, I confess, I love music, and games too, though these days I hardly play them anymore.

VGL

Video Games Live has been performing to sold out concerts all over the world, and its making its debut in Singapore, for a one night only concert! w00t! It’s a gamer’s dream come true as the music from these games comes alive to your very ears.

For one night only, on 19th June 2009, they are here to kick off the debut concert. Tickets are on sale now at SISTIC

Plus, students are eligible for a 10 percent discount when purchasing the tickets. Of course, if you have purchased ERA products, there’s a 20 percent discount. [Terms and conditions apply].

Of course, prior to the concert, there will be a pre-show festival activities, ranging from Cosplay to Game competition! Wow. Check out the site here for more details!

Haha I would love to go on and on, but I shall not, because my game music are beckoning my ears once again.

If you haven’t bought the tickets, do so, don’t wait anymore! :P Because after the stopover in Singapore, VGL will be off to Winnipeg…

PS: Oh yes, did I forget to mention that the NUS Symphony Orchestra is performing in this concert?

what’s upcoming for the week!

my life 1 Comment

Oh yes, the upcoming week will feature loads and loads of great posts, including gadget reviews (current and backdated stuff), and of course, posts about the things I’ve done and stuff. :)

Pardon me, but as I keep churning out the posts, I scheduled them about one post a day, in some cases two. :P Not to speed up my posting count, but I feel it’s high time I release as much content as I can, before they become outdated. LOL.

Of course, I am so glad I am starting to settle down into working life, and yes, I still go through emo periods each week, and taking time to slowly deal with everything. Am glad to have found support.

With Love,

Canon EOS 500D

my life Comments Off

Can’t find words to describe this camera. The Canon EOS 500D. Within minutes of trying it, I was hooked. Of course, I don’t have the shots with me to post it here.

I love the ease of handling and the form factor is awfully great for the ease of gripping the camera and steadying it. A plus point would be the weight of the 500D is quite light, allowing less strain on the arms.

Of course, I shall not say more, but do stick around for Gear65’s coverage of the Canon EOS 500D. Stay tuned.

Why I like Coffee

my life 2 Comments

Coffee has always a special meaning to me, where a leisure cuppa can bring about some wonderful feelings.

And nothing beats about having a freshly brewed cuppa, with some lovely coffee art to top it off. It never fails to bring about a smile to my face. Of course, I dunno how to brew coffee, but at least I can appreciate coffee!

Been spoilt by the coffee at GeekTerminal, and hey, it’s not a bad thing. Because I really enjoy the coffee on its own, without any additional sugar. :)

Not that I dislike my traditional kopi, but hey, having coffee of various varieties is a treat. And yes, I am still on the look out for coffee… Tip me off and I will visit the place for myself.

Of course, for the record, I am appalled by the way how Spinelli (Changi Airport) made that cup of latte. In fact, it totally shattered my confidence to enjoy another cup of coffee anymore from them. Imagine a cup of latte, the barista poured in the milk first, then the espresso. Horror. I had to stir for a good 5 mins to make sure they mix together.

It tasted milky. No coffee taste. Boo. I could do that too. Make coffee, boil milk and pour that together.

So now you know why I am so against Spinelli’s coffee. Maybe its the barista. Or maybe I should give them a chance by visiting them again to see if standards have changed.

I’m currently giving the Samsung Lapfit LCD Monitor a try, and I happen to have gotten hold of the LD190G thanks to Daniel Goh of Samsung.

I fixed it up with my laptop, and extended my viewing range.

Setting up and Installation of the Lapfit is easy, and by following the easy to read instructions, I got my Lapfit up and running within 30 mins, from unboxing to driver installation.

What impressed me were the colors and display, which turn out vibrant and pleasing to the eye. And yes, putting it side by side gives a harmonious displays, which is another bonus. But in this case, I didn’t mind putting it at an angle.

These are my first impressions of the Samsung Lapfit Monitor. I will be doing a detailed write-up on it real soon. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can. :)

Nicole

PS: Feel free to pass on the link to the e-coupon to your friends, and let’s spread some shopping cheer :)

I used the USB cable to connect the Lapfit to my laptop, but you can also opt to use the Analog cable, which frees up one of the USB ports.

Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantansy

my life Comments Off

Recently, I went to attend Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy at the Esplanade Concert Hall, and it’s worth every single cent, or more of the tickets. :)

I’m excited, for it’s one of the rare few concerts that featured game music from games. Well, it’s kind of a treat to mark the end of school, furthermore it was on 23rd May, one day after 22nd May where results were release. :)

And while being seated, I can’t resist taking a picture or two inside the concert hall itself.

The crowd roared the house down throughout the concert, and a befitting finale, One Winged Angel, to round up the concert.

Many a times the music brought so much joy to the ears, and it was indeed a very enjoyable experience.

For the office table

my life 1 Comment

I took a whole load of colorful stuff to place it on my table, to break the monotony of colors of my office desk space…

Haha, the table is now much more colorful and there is not a dull moment at work!

Oh yes, time flies, and it’s the 4th week at work!

My 1st Dress

my life Comments Off

Wore this dress out to meet the bf for the Distant Worlds concert. Haha, think that it will be the start of many dresses that I would want to buy from now on. :)

Kinda like the shade of pink on this dress, and what’s more, I love the designs on the straps…

And yes, Nicole finally wears a dress. :P
