It’s only after VillageTalk, then I realize that the call to persue my dreams has become even stronger. The urge to dare to dream, and realize the dream cries out even more frequently, but what exactly is stopping me? Money? Support? or the Pressure of being mocked at? or being Laughed at ? I really don’t know. Oh isit I don’t have the guts to do it? There are fears which are stopping me. I am really afraid. Call me chicken or something, but sometimes I find it so hard to even try to chase the dream… To make it blatantly simple, I failed even before I tried.
How much am I to risk everything ? How willing am I to work for it ? I really don’t know. Perhaps I am scared about the loans to payback when I graduate. Perhaps. I can’t survive without a payslip. I want to work freelance but I am not skilled enough.
I don’t know whats my next step, for I am still searching for the courage and guts to take my first step.
Should I continue to dream? Should I start chasing a dream? Should I ?
Or should I just risk it all and try?

You sound like you don’t know yet what your dream is. If you find one day that you have a dream you’re truly passionate about, then I think there will be no question about it. You’ll feel compelled to pursue it wholeheartedly because it’s what makes your life mean something, regardless of the outcome.

Nicole, at least you start thinking about these problems then to totally ignore them. You are now in the thinking process stage, if you can overcome them one by one, you are more ready to move on.

Sometimes, that elusive dream is there in the middle of your random thoughts. But, the harsh reality of life does get in the way of that dream. If your will to succeed is beyond the world itself, then you should go for it as there is only one thing that concerns you – your happiness.

Its great to have dreams and that’s what keeps the human spirit going. However, its also good to speak to people, ask around and get a sense of the gritty reality. The world shouldn’t always be looked at with rose-tinted lenses, but at the same time, don’t let pragmatism make you lose your idealism.
You are young and at a stage of your life where anything and everything is possible. As the saying goes, “Begin with the end in mind…” and chart the course of your life with what you hope to achieve in the end. If you do need to hear from somebody who has been there and done that, you know how to contact me.

Nicole,
I am just wondering around the cyberspace, trying to make sense of the world around us. Yes, I am also in search of words of wisdom, like you. I cannot offer much, but only my honest opinions. I do not dare to say I have done this, been there and know all. I just want to offer some simple words from my limited experiences in life.
Well, I am a guy that has three computers with four LCDs, in front of him. And no, I am not a programming algorithm, no ifs and elses here.
