Continuation from part 1… and of course, its a routine to code and code and code, coupled with breaks in between, to refresh the mind and the body… and of course, not to mention that it beats away the frustration too
Experienced frustrations trying to upload my work into the server… there were 8 competition servers and each team is assigned to a server depending on the team number… and with some technical help, was able to resolve all the uploading errors… and very soon, could do testing on the server itself
whee!
During the course of competition, I found my skills leveling up by 2 or 3 times… haha, I guess the competition really brings out all everything one has, and I am yet again amazed that I can do things I previously thought not possible
Just before dinner, I had a splitting headache, and thought I could shake it off with water and some rest… but it didn’t happen and thus went to the medical center (a makeshift one) and sought for some panadol…
one tablet and it banish that headache to the back of my mind…
The harshest part of the competition was just beginning… towards the night… where the hours get more stretchy and to fight off the temptation to sleep… hehe… and I won ok~ Never once I felt like sleeping throughout the night, and that the drinks I had helped… I drank chicken essence (which mum made me bring), 2 packs of ribena, 2 cans of coffee and loads and loads of adrenaline through catchy music and stuff… it works la.. at least for me…
it wore on to the mornings… and something funny happen… some of the participants decided to sleep… and boy can they snore… it was so irritating, because both right and left were snoring like so in sync… yuck… so I stepped out to wash my face… and went back to the area there to breathe some fresh air before facing the computer again…
and then one of the organizers came in and taped those sleeping fellas… amusing man… haha, but it was all done all in the name sake of fun… haha… and by then, the competition will be ending soon, and everyone is trying to deploy the application…
a lot of teams faced deployment difficulties… and the technical crew were kept busy
Time flies, and then the judges came… guess what… My team was the first team to be judged !!! Oh gosh… this is like so “heng” (lucky)… and the odds were better than striking lottery la… haha… the judges asked a lot of questions… and I tried my best to answer them… oh well… not much hopes of getting into the 2nd round
and after that, I headed home… in a cab… was too zoned out to actually take a bus home… =X
Haha, went home and napped for 4 hrs, after which I had dinner, a quick blog posting and slept till about 1030 today….
Decided to relax properly at home for now… and stay tune to part 3… where I will blog about SMU, the competition and postmortem that I did for myself…
