31 Jul 2007 reflections before sch starts
 |  Category: my life

The school holidays are drawing to a close, and I thought I might as well write an entry on my reflections about the hols… Its going to be quite a long entry, and I don’t blame you if you decided to snooze after reading part of it… erm its not going to be boring, but more or less, lengthy ;) A lot of events took place, and potentially impacted the way I am going to look at things, or the way I am going to handle things that comes my way…

But before I carry on with the rest of this entry, may I gently remind you to be comfortable in your chair, relax and enjoy a good cup of beverage whilst you are at it reading this entry :)

Back to the time when exams were over, there was much sadness when I packed my bags and bade goodbye to my hostel, hall 14. The times where I stayed there made me more independent, and along with freedom, comes with more disciplined and determination to work things out on my own… Suffice to say, I love and totally enjoyed my time living at the hostel.

It also mark the time when I am more or less having meetups with the Ping.sg gang, at various events like BlogOut, VillageTalk, and the grand opening of Geek Terminal towards the end of the month. :) Its nice to meet new people from the blogosphere @ blogout, gaining a deeper insight and understanding of issues raised by speakers at VillageTalk, and of course letting your hair down and party away, enjoying the company with people around you. :)

May ended, and that kinda marked one month of my hols… just gone in a flash of the eye… Honestly, I never felt so much enjoyment, and am very happy :D

June came, and I was pretty much involved in the planning and executing of a research project, aka Voice Collection Project… I remember the times when I had to ensure that execution goes on without hitches, from training of the team members as well as securing the premises, logistics etc… It was really hardwork… and totally learn what is it like to be a leader. Not that I do not have leadership experiences before, but working on a real industry project leadership experience is totally different from working on projects in curriculum subject basis.

The experience gained? Priceless. Yes, I am not perfect and made some mistakes in the way i lead the team. I admitted that things could be improved, and I welcomed the criticism and comments I have received. :) It was great having to be able to be part of the team for the project in 2007. I would like to take the chance here at thanking Hendri, for encouraging me to take this on, as well as Ruiping, for giving me the opportunity to do so :) Haha, I simply can’t forget thanking the rest of the group members, for without your help, this project would not have been successful.

If I may have done anything that has irked you, pissed you off or whatsoever, I’m sorry. (To the people who may have felt that I am too much in any ways – I don’t know, different people have different threshold) What I perceived may be ok, may be deemed offensive to them. :) Again, no offense.

Time really flies, and yes, I am left with like 5 days more before the new academic year 07/08 starts. Starting to feel the nerd in me growing, and oh yes, gonna head to school to try lay my hands on some notes first. haha, as well as a time to meet and catchup with my friends entering NTU in this coming academic year.

All in all, I feel that I’ve grown up, and definitely not looking at issues the same way as I did last time.

August is my birthday month, and I am totally excited. To all August babies, Happy Advanced Birthday!
