In love with the 7D but I guess my infatuation with a DSLR has to wait. Broke from paying all the loans (am still paying).

Tried my hands at the Canon 500D, as well as the Canon 50D. Picts and write ups on the way!

Review: Canon EOS 500D

I like photography, but never had the chance to start shooting seriously, till I manage to get a review unit of the Canon EOS 500D. Granted, it’s an entry-level dslr, but it still gave me great shots.

The body of the 500D weighs in at about 480g, and plus the lens, about 800g (this is my rough estimate). The lens that came with the review unit is the EF-S18-55mm, and I had a lot of fun shooting with this particular lens.

I must say that the feel of the camera feels good in my hands, and very easy to grip.

My final words? I like the 500D, in terms of ease of handling and usage of the camera, though I would love to have more variety in white balance settings. But overall, the camera didn’t disappoint.

Had a very good time out yesterday… which explains that I was totally offline, and haven’t had time to check my emails! But it has been a very enriching and learning experience for me, as an amateur photographer.

The shots are in, and it’s in need of some post processing. The subjects of this shot, are people, and the 2 Audi’s A6.

My first time shooting with his Canon DSLR, and boy, I love it. I don’t mind trying shooting with other DSLR’s. Hehe… Though it feels really heavy in my hands, but I like the vibrant colors as well as the selections I can really use…

Will post them here when it’s done. Perhaps, some shots from my point and shoot digital camera at the moment will suffice.

All in all, went to quite a few places, and it’s one hell of a luck that the weather held back the rain, as it was raining for the first half of the day. That upset a few plans for the shoot, but we yield up good shots
