Launch Event: Sony Walkman Z Series

my life No Comments

With thanks to Sony and Waggener Edstrom, I was invited to the launch of the Sony Walkman Z Series at Helipad.

Walkman Z (Music)

The Walkman Z Series looks and feels like a mobile phone, being similar to the Xperia models that are currently in the market. No surprises for the Walkman Z Series to adopt Android. However, it does not come with a built in camera, thus, this device can be brought into camera restricted areas. Now, isn’t that awesome? :)

Weighing in at 165g, it does not feel a tad too heavy in the palm, rather, resting snugly with its weight evenly distributed throughout the device, making it comfortable to fiddle around with the Sony Walkman.

Apart from the crisp and smooth music playback in my brief encounter with the Sony Walkman, I am also quite happy to be able to use it as an entertainment all in one gadget, like downloading games, apps, as well as storing music and movies for my playback pleasure. The storage capacity’s at 16 GB, which I might find myself running out of space in a short period of time. :P

Its also WIFI and Bluetooth compatible, so hooking it up to other devices would not a pain. Do you know that you could enjoy approx. 20 hours of continuous audio playback, and appro. 5 hours for movie playback?

My encounter with the device is thus too short for my liking and ability to give you (my dear readers) a detailed review of the Sony Walkman Z Series. However, for first impressions, I am quite pleased with the audio quality, and not to forget the beautiful 4.3 inch anti-reflective LCD screen, which makes the colors appear vivid on the screen.

Walkman Z (Games)

I hope to be able to review it soon, so as to gain a better idea of what the Sony Walkman Z Series is truly capable of, and share these information with you.

The Walkman Z1050 Mobile Entertainment Player (photo featured in this blog post) comes with a 16GB capacity and will retail at $429.00.

of SALT and inSing

my life Comments Off

Was invited to watch SALT at a private screening, courtesy to inSing. Spy thriller, woohoo!

Image taken from thestarceleb.com

I adored how Angelina Jolie played her role of “Evelyn Salt”. All that stunts she did was like woah… Kinda dig the movie much, with all that fast packed action and flurry. Simply love the way she looked in the film. Storyline’s pretty straightforward, so go catch it! :P

So, what does the movie “SALT” and inSing.com have in common?

One needs a ticket before watching the show right? Movie buffs will cheer at the discounts one can get when purchasing GV Movie tickets, and viewing of all other theaters with the timings and movies all in one page. This beats surfing to individual movie sites for information.

As of now, the links to GV and Cathay is up, I believe they are working on implementing the other cineplex links soon.

While you are there, why not check out the other sections that inSing has to offer? :)

I shall refrain from writing more, because I want you to head over to inSing and check them out :P

Exhibition: Pixar

my life Comments Off

Went to take a look at the exhibition, “20 years of Animation: Pixar”, which is still being till 27th June 2010!

It was truly an eyeopener, as one gained deeper insights of how these animation films are produced.

I am pleased to see most of my favourite film characters on exhibit, like Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo… and oh yes, all of that clay models they did when modeling the character.

I have so much to ramble on about, but I shall not as the exhibition is still on going, and I very much strongly encourage you to take a look :)

Here are the rest of the photos that I’ve taken throughout the Pixar Exhibition.

Thanks to Band PR and Singapore Science Center for the invite, and photo opportunity. :)

Event: Live it Up Without Lighting Up

my life Comments Off

Was part of the FlashMob yesterday starting from SMU Green. The other 2 mobs started from Heereen, and Orchard Central respectively. Each group were decked out in different color t-shirts, which made us look like a moving group of colors!

Pretty thankful that it didn’t rain :) The event started and many of us were fumbling with receiving the instructions via the provided radio receivers…

We ended up walking in a big circle around SMU… and walking without lighting up! The walk was pretty ok, though I was expecting more fun like shouting cheers and stuff like that (perfect chance to do something spontaneous and fun) :X

Stayed till the final lucky draw, though I didn’t win, but congrats to clauds, dk, justin and qq’s brother :) The bands performances were great (now who say we have no local talent?)

Kudos to the organizers for putting the event together. Though I felt that more could be done to make the experience enjoyable. I couldn’t hear the Emcee in the group, and certainly don’t feel the vibe of the Great Audio Experience.

I certainly had a good time watching the performances, and that smoking is never cool to begin with :)

Universal Studios Singapore – Magic

my life 1 Comment

I couldn’t possibly resist fun, thrill and excitement of Universal Studios Singapore. Made possible by the kind folks at Canon, and thanks to Glenn and Noel of Ogilvy for the invite.

Image: Taken with Nokia N97.

The small, compact and sweet looking Canon IXUS 130 was my companion for the day, capturing all the beautiful sights and memories of the place.

The Canon IXUS 130 have a few colors – Orange, Pink, Silver, Black. Each of the color look equally good, in my opinion :)

Prelude to BodyWorlds series

my life 1 Comment

Thanks to Jiayi, Band PR, as well as the lovely folks at Science Center, I was at the Body Worlds Exhibition. It’s my first time visiting Body Worlds, and I was totally blown away by the exhibits on display.

Yes, yes, I had permission to shoot the exhibits, and please do not copy or use them without permission.

I just want to let you know that I have loads of photos to share, and I am organizing them as I go about writing. The Body Worlds exhibition coverage will be in a few blog posts, so that I won’t overwhelm you with all that photos and text.

As you wait for these posts, why not head down to Science Center and see for yourself as well? I believe its very educational and eye-opening, well at least to me. :) One can also purchase the books and other souvenirs of Body Worlds as well.

Alrightey, look out for the posts real soon!

If you have any questions, or would like to suggest how I best present these content to you, drop me a comment!

A Christmas All Decked Out

my life Comments Off

Along with a bunch of bloggers, we were invited to witness the Christmas light-up of Orchard Road. The event was held at Ion Orchard, and His Excellency, President S R Nathan was the guest of honor.

I felt really honored to be present watching him commence the annual Christmas Lightup, and enjoyed the performances as well.

After which, we boarded the Hippo Bus which took us along the Orchard shopping belt for a visual treat of the light up.

Here are some snap shots:

Embedded is the slideshow for your enjoyment

This Christmas is indeed “A Christmas All Decked Out” which is the theme for 2009.

Thanks to Benjamin of STB for the invite. :)

A prelude

my life 2 Comments

I attended a very interesting workshop, that I could have hands-on session at acquiring new techniques of shooting photographs. Pardon me while I spend time going through those photographs before I publish them up here. :)

Anyway, this is the camera that I shot the pictures with…

The metallic pink~! I kinda like that.

and the cool blue :)

The Sony-T90. Nope, I didn’t buy it, it was provided for usage during the course.

Of course, silly me has not even told you what course it is. It was the Sony Digital Workshop, organized by Sony and Blog2u. Many thanks to Darryl for the invite. :)

Alright, this is a sort of teaser post to the actual article coming up real soon :P

Unveiling the Phones

my life Comments Off

Was invited to get a glimpse of Samsung’s latest offerings to the tech market, which they have done so on MWC, in Barcelona, Spain.

The slideshow will give you a clear idea of the phones that were showcased, along with each of the phone’s features. :) (I figured that the photos are very informative for your reading)

I anticipate both the Omnia HD as well as the Ultra Touch. Looking forward to see it released in the local market. :)
