upset, annoyed blogger on leap day.

9:04 am my life

What a way to start Feb 29, leap day.

Before I go on and rant, first, let me say, Happy Birthday to all Leap Day Babies! *You are forever young, and to all couples getting married on this day, blessed marriage.*

Ok, you are about to read my rants and take on some issues that is too overly discussed. But nonetheless, read on if you are interested….

The day did not start right the moment I was at my usual bus stop near my place to catch a
long bus ride to Bukit Merah Interchange. And truth be told, I wasn’t really surprised when the bus was packed like sardines. But what caught me off guard was that there are so many passengers in the bus today!

The driver had to holler for them to move in. Classic behavior of almost all standing passengers…is not moving to the back of the bus. Granted, some of us may want easy access to exiting of the bus, but if everyone thinks like that, then might as well install a third door at the back right?

Thankfully I’m seated, but one can’t help but be annoyed at the pace the bus is moving, constantly hovering between slow and formula B speeds… All on the extremes of the speed bend… Argh… I did not know what happened on the highway… Because the next thing I knew, waking up from the snooze in the bus, I realized I was nowhere near Bukit Merah. I haven’t even passed through Newton!

Ok, fine… Just sit there and let the bus continue its journey… it was smooth till Zion Road, Great World City… and the first sign of something out of the norm… The driver removed the bus number plate from top… and later on, from the side… and from then on, it was only to let passengers alight, and no boarding at all.

I felt quite perplexed by this issue… I mean, can bus drivers do this? Granted that there is another number 5 approaching soon… But the passengers at that stop might have waited a long time… hmm…

Further on, there was a school girl who alighted, and to my horror, she slipped and fell. =X Before I could rush to help her, a kind passerby pulled her to safety… Her screams alerted the driver, who rushed down to see if she is ok… I think she sprained her ankle… poor thing… :(

And before that, I was so damn freaking annoyed with a long haired lady passenger.

*rant mode on*

I mean, please la, you want to tie up your hair, can don’t drop a lot of your hair on MY bag? I don’t wish to know what your hair color is, for I can see. I don’t wish to ask you what shampoo you use, for I can smell… and I don’t deserved to be riddled with hair!

I know I am mean to call up a friend and rant on the spot, but I seriously hate to clear quite a few strands of other people’s hair on my bag… I can tell that she is paiseh after hearing me saying verbally. That’s the best I can do methinks. Because she don’t give a freaking damn about how other passengers may be affected.

Soon enough, the bus driver asked who could be a witness of what happened to the pretty and young school girl (probably in sec sch?). And everyone just pretend nothing has happened. I am feeling quite upset that how could one just ignore helping? In the end, I volunteered my information to the driver, who merely took down my name and contact number, just in case they needed to call me. It was that simple.

But the fact that everyone did not try to help is pissing me off. The bus driver probably got into some deep trouble by being very late in reaching the bus terminal… and last thing he wants is an accident to happen to any passengers…. Will you like if if YOU are the victim and that NO ONE wants to help?

*rant mode off*

We all think in a selfish way, I don’t deny. But sometimes, being a bit more kind to help someone in need is not too much to ask for right? I think that’s just me… :(

ok, it is normal for bus drivers to remove the number plate. I mean if you can’t squeeze anymore sardine into the can, no point stopping right?

the girl, did she fall inside the bus or fall down the bus?

ranting.. i almost did that yesterday when this man sitting behind me sort of scream into his mobile phone. I wanted to scream into mine and complain to my imaginary call party that someone behind was noisy and i have to scream. But you could have told the lady not to do that?

the witness thing.. oh well, everyone wants less thing to do with themselves.

@chillycraps: No no, the bus was almost empty liao, no one standing… the girl fell whilst alighting from the steps… she landed on the pavement.

You are right, I could have told her, but after some signs of displeasure, she still don’t pick up my cue.

Accidents, they kaypo, need help, they hide. That’s why no one wants to be witness.
